Exercise

This may seem like a no-brainer, but it’s easy to fall off the exercise wagon once you’ve reached your ideal weight. Continuing to take the time to exercise on a regular basis, can play a big role in maintaining your overall weight. Not only can this help with burning extra calories, but it can also help with increasing your metabolism as well! Additionally, regular exercise will help tone your muscles, make you stronger, and releases feel-good endorphins that will make your outlook on life a little brighter. Higher levels of physical exercise may be needed in order to successfully maintain your weight, so find something you enjoy and stick to it!

Check In With Yourself

Another useful way to help maintain weight loss is to always weight yourself on a regular basis. By doing so, this will help you eat fewer amounts of calories throughout the day; however, how often you decide to weigh yourself is ultimately a personal choice on your part. While some people choose to do this on a daily basis, there are others who may opt to do so once or twice per week.

Stay Consistent

Losing weight is an exciting journey to take on, but losing weight doesn’t stop when you see the number you’d like on the scale. It’s about making healthy lifestyle changes that will be implemented every day.  It’s important to remember that there will be setbacks, and you may over-indulge occasionally, or skip a workout you had planned, but don’t let these small setbacks push you back into old, unhealthy habits. Reminder yourself that everyone makes mistakes, and all you can do is keeping pushing forward and be mindful of your choices!

Let Yourself Live

Most importantly, remember that your life doesn’t, and shouldn’t, circle around your weight or the number on the scale. Have the piece of cake, drink the extra cocktail, and enjoy food and drink on special occasions and with friends and family. Indulging in sweet treats and “unhealthy” foods shouldn’t be followed up with a punishment – just enjoy them in moderation!
